Masood Safarnia, an Iranian photographer, breaks habits by choosing unconventional angles for photography and displays unconventional forms in a realistic atmosphere in a way that sometimes some of his photographs seem abstract at first glance. His formalist view can be attributed to his studies and research on the theory of Russian formalism, which he has focused on since 2010.
In addition to photography, Safarnia is also active in graphic design. The collection of his advertising photographs, which has been taken after researching the concept of de-familiarization in the theory of formalism, tries to postpone the audience’s understanding in order to deepen the subject by making it unconventional.
He is currently completing new photography and art projects and lives in Tehran-Iran.
